After asking if she was competent to perform swordfighting, she promptly sent the producers a video. Jessica was able to read the script and realized that the character would require weapon training. Her first video was recorded lesson with a professional following reading it. As per Jonathan Glassner, the stunt team was amazed by how well she performed during her initial lesson. Her prior films were made in Australia. In the film, The Outpost was her debut big part in the United States. The character is based on Jessica's passion for action by utilizing her mixed martial arts, horse riding, weapon skills, and athletic abilities enabling her to perform stunts and thoroughly embody the strong female character. She has studied boxing and muay Thai, and trains at the gym for mixed martial arts in Australia. Jake Stormoen came across an animal roaming the set for filming Season 4 while on set. The dog had been occupying the entire set. Jessica was the foster mom to two pups.
